A sample of the apps I've prototyped or created

Wick Communications

NABUR

NABUR is a local forum for small communities, and is currently in places where Wick Communications has papers like Green Valley, AZ and Wenatchee, WA. The forum is dedicated to fighting misinformation and hosting fact-based, civil conversations.

The photo on the right is the old NABUR, which was on a platform that Wick didn't own or control. The photo on the left is the app currently in development, which includes misinformation tools like NewsGuard as an integration. The NewsGuard prototype was one of the first prototypes I created for NABUR, and now it's being officially built into the app!

An example of a prototype I created for a misinformation solutions sketch for the Voices Listening Project. Aspects of this prototype were built out into a different prototype for a Google Chrome plug-in that would track the misinformation you encounter online!

Eco Lizard is the working name for a reusable takeout container program I am working to start in Tucson with Sustainable Tucson.

The two photos on the top show the first iteration of the app, and the photos on the bottom show the most recent iteration after user testing!

Please note, nothing here is finalized.

Tu Salud Tucson was born out of a partnership between the Arizona Daily Star and the University of Arizona School of Journalism. After completing six months of research into the local Latino community, my partner and I found that many people needed health news that addressed the cultural stigmas surrounding seeking care. We pitched Tu Salud Tucson, and were selected to build out the app for another six months.

The photos show the app prototype, which was available in both Spanish and English.

While the Arizona Daily Star ultimately decided to not continue building out the app due to cost, the experience remains, and it taught me many things about agile app development and community outreach.
